Sometimes this is harder to do than at other times…but if we do this, there are long term benefits that compound over time. Just make sure that when you say it you look her in the eyes as well, without tacking on a “babe” or “ya” to the end of it. In other words, it isn’t what you say that matters but how you say it.

All of this assumes of course that we are loving our wives in non-verbal ways…taking out the trash, cleaning the dishes, wiping the kids noses, and making time to listen to her. Most wives would say that showing them we love them is more important than even hearing that we love them.

I think both are necessary if we want to stay out of the dog house and keep the woman of our dreams. As a wise old Cajun from Louisiana once told me:
“Ifz mommaz ain’t happy, ain’t nobodies zhappy!” Of course, this person also told me (with regard to being the head of his household, decision making, and managing the family finances) “Iz Seen Da’ Job and Iz don’t wannit”.
