It’s a much more in-depth exploration of the same ideas in the Fountainhead. While Ayn Rand is full on nuts in some ways, she really does have some wonderful ideas. I was easily seduced by the simplicity an moral integrity of the worlds she creates, but it’s obvious that the “human factor” (aka “people generally suck”) make the full expression of her philosopy impossible.

it has to be The Fountainhead, at least at first. I had a teacher in tenth grade who really wanted me to read The Fountainhead, and I actually did start reading it. But I had the same attention span then that I do now, but amplified by high school, so I got about as far with it as I have this time around.
Uhhh… I think I’ve changed since tenth grade…
Well, I’m taller…
good on old promises, how cool. I would have killed for a teacher that would have recomended reading Ayn Rand—I’ve known precious few that had anything save a seething hatred of her and spat vitriolic condemnations of her ideas.
I think you must have skipped a few grades by the look of that 10th grade class picture. I think you looked a bit more innocent there too =P Or were you plotting such madness even then?
