You’ve got all your life to work countless 4th steps. Get it down, get it fast, and get on with the steps. You’ll be more honest, open, and willing in your next 4th step, for by then you will have matured in your sobriety.

Good advice...

Too many people try to do the perfect 4th step the first time. get it down, dump it , and then move on.

I had a sponsee

who showed up with 25 pages of small handwriting, filling each page. These weren’t 8.5×11 inch pages, they were 11×25 inch pages!!!

It took 9 hours for him just to read them. But, that was the step he needed to do. I don’t recall him taking more than a week or two to write it down.

An awesome dude.
