I’ve taken many classes since getting my baccalaureate degree, but finally chose a great advanced degree - Master of Library and Information Science - and am almost finished. Every class I’ve taken has added knowledge and new friends to my life. I highly recommend going back to school, whether you take one adult-ed class or complete a degree.
School rocks!
Comments:
I know I could google it
but what is Library and Information Science all about? I don’t know anyone who has this degree…all I know about it I learned from “Party Girl” (the movie with Parker Posey)
Why Google when you know a librarian?
LIS is all about organizing and retrieving information, whether that means books, business documents, e-mail messages, eBay listings, etc. Here’s the mission of my school program (San Jose State University):
“The School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) educates professionals and develops leaders who organize, manage and enable the effective use of information and ideas in order to contribute to the well-being of our communities.”
