learn to swim better
Untitled

I think first I have to get over my fear of drowning.

to get rid of fear

fill up the tub and hold your breathe to see how long you can do so. open your eyes .still afraid.wear googles and try. then go to a local pool and jump in with a life vest on and learn the strokes.

Wow

thanks. Those are some really great ideas. I’ll try that tub thing tonight.

Trauma_Junkie thinks she may have had a touch too much caffiene...

one other thing

try to start swimming in an exersise pool that has no deep end. They are usually about 4 feet deep, so you would feel as if you were just in a large bathtub.
If you lived closer, I’d teach you.

Thanks

I never even thought about that. I’ll see if I can find one near here.

fears

it will be easy , i did it , and now i can dive in the deep side of the pool here and not be afraid. the pool here is 13ft deep and shallow 4ft. the pool here is heated indoors and is cheap to get in $2 to be fact. i stay water logged , they litterly have to throw me out . but try the tub , first then find a pool but wear a life vest (ski vest) just to be able to jump in over your head and let it float you up ,swimming as you surface . you can practice the moves and still float .without goin under .
