I’m very new to the doc world yet to continue what Kyoken said—negotiate up front two points: the amount + your absolute control over the project including the depiction of their interview. If the interview subject insists on viewing the project prior release, agree up front but again, underscore your leadership in the project. I suppose that lends itself to really building trust w/ those you interview huh… (might try Rosenthal’s “Writing, Producing….Documentary Films”. Good luck in getting your project off the ground.
