about 20 people came over my house last night. we met, we talked, and we drew a map of where averybody’s house was. it was a good first step. anyone else have ideas?

Block watch
You could try to organize a neighborhood block watch. SPD has a formal block watch program that helps small areas within neighborhoods get together to aid crime prevention. I’m going to my neighbor’s house next week for a block watch meeting on disaster aid and response. Seattle has a program called SDART which focuses on organizing neighbors for just such a purpose. Seems like a good idea.
