I'm a Loser on do a freaking cartwheel on 43 Things

Lol so because I suck at life . . . I have never successfully done a complete cartwheel that I can remember. Despite the fact that I hate cheerleading and was “too tall” for gymnastics growing up, I was a “cheerleader” for the basketball team at a summer camp I attended one year. I use the term loosely because it was very unofficial and I don’t even think we had to try out. I remember one night I went home during that summer and tried all freaking evening to do a cartwheel in my front yard because we needed to for some cheer, and still couldn’t get it all the way. So . . . while this has no pertinance to my life anymore, I would be thrilled if at some point I can finally do a cartwheel so I don’t feel retarded anymore.

I do them frequently, believe it or not (not the most graceful, but I don’t care). :oD In fact, when we bought our first house, we were standing on the front lawn…just looking at it. After a minute or two of silence, my husband said, “Go ahead…I know you want to.” I did about 3 of them to celebrate.

Then I pulled a muscle. :oD

Thanks for the encouragement, guys! I suppose to clarify, I can DO a cartwheel sort of … I just can’t land correctly. Instead of landing in the steady line of the rest of the cartwheel, I have to turn to the side and land on both feet at the same time (I think that’s called a round-off?) for some reason. I guess, therefore, my goal is really to do a cartwheel CORRECTLY and in its completeness.

So … you cannot do a cartwheel either, Rick? You mean I’m not alone?!

I, also, cannot do a cartwheel

I used to try for HOURS when I was a kid, but I never even got close. I’ve chalked it up to just something i’m not built for, like touching my toes, whistling, and rolling my tongue.
