Here’s hoping that the next generation of Filipinos (I’m no longer counting on this one) will finally see the “bigger picture”. The main difference: progressive cultures are emphasizing and investing in the future compared to our people whose current mindset is emphasizing the present and the past. Rizal saw a clear vision of the future and it’s importance, this explains how much premium he gave to Education and the youth. Rizal is like a time traveler who has already been to the future. Today is his 145th birthday, and Education is still the key. It is still the foundation so our good dreams and visions will become reachable. Education will still guarantee that my future kids will strive to live instead to just exist.
