Someone told me that going through escrow is one of the five biggest stressors you can have in your life (the other four being 1. a new baby, 2. the death of someone very close to you, 3. getting married and 4. getting divorced) and I believe it! Our escrow just closed 6/10 and it was DREADFUL. But looking around the house and knowing that it’s ours made the whole thing worth it, as corny and hackneyed (sp?) as that sounds. Be sure you have a good loan person that will answer your questions and never make you feel like what you’re asking is dumb. And be sure you make a really detailed budget before you get too far along in the process.
