my friend’s suggested to me to knit dishcloths. i found two books that have pretty intricate patterns – some are knit/purl others go all crazy with SSK PSSO and all that goodness.

The great thing here is that they are small and you finish quickly but they are useful things to have in your house or give away to people.

I found one book at walmart and one at hobby lobby written by the same lady who just writes dishcloth patterns it seems.

if you can knit and purl you can do a lot but start small.
can you add stiches or can you decress stiches? Can you also rib by doing a knit 1 then purl 1? if so you can do any small project you want. all you have to do is have patients and also re read the pattern often. If you have not learned how to pick up a drop stich yet read up on that and then you can prety much do anythign you want.
I just got this book called up the front down the back and doing my first adult sweater.
Look on your cable or satlite provider and see what channel DIY is on and look up the show KNitty Gritty. that show if you can record it do and watch them. you can learn a lot and try small stuff.
