That’s a good idea but Mark and I want a TV-DVD combo for our bedroom for when he comes over this summer. See, I rent out a room in my house so we thought having a small tv with dvd in my room would give us nice privacy.

However, I bought a 13 inch Magnavox from WalMart and it skips DVD-R’s bad! It’s important for me to find one that plays DVD-R’s as a lot of my DVD’s are homemade from my friend.

Today, I’m going to pick up either:

This Toshiba 13-inch with DVD

or this Insignia 13-inch with DVD

I read a big about Insignia… I guess it’s Best Buy’s own brand and the prices are a wee bit lower now as they are trying to promote it!

However, Toshiba is a more well known brand so I might get that instead. I just want one that can play DVD-R’s. I mean, come on, technology should have caught up with DVD-R and DVD-RW by now and all TV/DVD combos should come DVD-R compatible you’d think… but, apparently Magnavox doesn’t!

P.S. Magnavox played them part way through but then acted like it got overheated and started skipping the discs. I tried several times! I know it wasn’t the discs beacuse after letting it cool down for the night the DVD-R that skipped the night before played smoothly! So, it must be the player!
