eat less sugar (read all 3 entries…)
Untitled

I’ve not had a Pepsi since my last entry. I’ve found a decent soft drink alternative. It is called Fresca. It has no sugar and no calories, and it still tastes quite good. How is this possible? I checked for shady ingredients (like Splenda, which for some reason I just don’t trust) but they all seemed okay. The strangest ingredient was some sort of wood rosin (if I remember correctly), and that sounds natural enough. I’ll eat wood if it tastes like soda pop.

Fresca

is like one of the first diet drinks ever created. I think Tab was actually first though.

Years ago, it had saccharin (sp?). I think they since changed to aspartame (sp?) which is the generic term for Equal.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of diet drinks because I don’t trust any of the chemical alternatives. I try to limit sugar intake by being more in control of the sugar I consume by making drinks that I add the sugar to such as tea or kool-aid. Also adding sparkling water to juice is a great soda alternative.

Gosh, I didn’t know I was drinking Equal. I guess I’m okay with that. I don’t think it had a whole lot.

I think I’ll try the juice with sparkling water sometime. I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks for the suggestion.

How can you drink Fresca? It is the most disgusting drink ever invented!

It has kind of a puzzling taste. The way I explained it to a friend is, it kind of tastes like Alka-Seltzer, but it’s actually pretty good. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when I think about it, but that’s what it tastes like. I basically just need something to drink in a soda situation, and Fresca fits the bill. I could not drink a diet cola. I’d just end up wishing I had a Pepsi instead.

Do not try to tell me what Fresca tastes like. I have tasted it numerous times, and it does not taste ‘pretty good.’

If it’s so terrible, why on earth did you taste it “numerous times”? Hmm?

Because when I was a teenager my father hid all the soda and only left out the Fresca.
