Done today! Wasn’t bad at all I swum it with my husband very relaxed. it took 60 min to swim the 1450m

I know! I happened to have a day off and my hubby was having a night shift so we could start early.
But you can swim in the lake long distances quite safely otherwise too.you can just swim along the shore. We are swimming almost every evening from Zürichhorn to Tiefenbrunnen and back, it takes around 45-60 min.depending on speed.

I see you and your hubby are swimming the lake regularly. I intend on coming to Zurich to swim across the lake once or twice. The only issue is : it is going to be end of February.
I am experienced in cold water swimming, so no worries.
Could you help me with some info on water temp around this time of the year, air temp?

Oh – sounds great!!! I think the water must be as cold as it gets i.e. +4 celsius – but I assume you’ll be using a wetsuit. However, this also depends on the air temp. Usually it’s pretty cold – could be between a few degrees below zero celsius to max. +5 C. Btw. a good place to warm up afterwards: www.tonttu.ch
