I saw the film last week and if you’ve read the book then the film will probably be a big disappointment. Parts of it were left out because the film was too long, though I think they should have left them in. (Also Tom Hanks is getting far too old and the receding hairline is not a good look.)

The ending was the only good part, I think it was better than the book.
