How to be in a band for a musical
"Felt so included and appreciated. the whole experience was so much fun! "
How I did it: I was asked by my conductor friend to take part, and was flattered to be asked.
i was given the music a couple of weeks before the show,
i looked at it and it looked far too difficult, but when i'd just about decided i couldn't do it,
i heard a voice in my head singing one of the songs that goes "anything's possible"
and that gave me confidence,
so i did it!
and i loved it throughout.
it was incredible fun, playing amongst my friends in something so enjoyable.
and between shows we could go to the pub and spend time together so it was very sociable and fun.
the cast absolutely adored the band and we felt so appreciated, it was incredible!
Lessons & tips:
- learn to sightread
- learn to count
- be prepared for lots of concentration
- be prepared to give up a lot of time
- be confident
