How to get ACLS certified
How I did it: The hard part was studying before the class and passing the pre-test that comes with the book. By the time you show up to class you are just reinforcing that material, asking questions, and having fun with it!
Addition: Not a week after completing this class a patient coded on the floor. At first I was hesitant to go, thinking there were already enough people in the room. But when I looked, I saw that they needed help because they didn't know what to do at all. I got in there with chest compressions at first and when the code team arrived I switched to giving meds through the IV. We sent the guy to ICU and I figured he must have died. Another week or so later I return to work and find the same patient back in a room on our unit!! My first code ever with a positive result.
