How to remove my make-up before I go to bed
How I did it: I decided that I needed to start a skincare regimen, after I noticed I was looking particularly ashy one morning when I woke up. I bought the Avon Solutions Total Radiance kit, which had a morning cleanser, eye cream, and moisturizer, and then an evening thermal cleanser, "radiance gel" and evening moisturizer. Considering my previous routine was to wash my face every morning in the shower, this seemed like a pretty intense regimen. I decided to try it for a week, and see what happened. As a result, I ended up removing my make-up every night before I washed my face, since it seems a little silly to leave your mascara on when the rest of your face is clean! For mascara removal, I used Avon Eye Makeup Remover, which seemed kind of greasy at first, but does take waterproof mascara off pretty well. It also worked to get foundation off, since I didn't want to get "gunk" all over my face cloths! To end the story, removing my makeup every night was totally worth it, since my eyes weren't as irritated when I woke up in the mornings, and in the past few weeks, my skin has improved as well. And I look much better in the mirror every morning. I still have dark circles under my eyes, so I think the eye cream is kind of a scam, but I love that "radiance gel"...sorry I can't think of the name of it!
Lessons & tips: It was hard to include this in my everyday routine, since I usually just want to fall into my bed, so I started doing it before I brushed my teeth at night, since I've done that since before I can remember. That way, I don't forget to take my makeup off. It seems silly that I have to remind myself to do something so simple, but that's just the way I am.
Resources: I researched various products on the internet before I bought anything, so I guess "Google" could be considered a resource! :)
