How to stop dying my hair
How I did it: It was the summer before 7th grade, and I dyed my hair bright red. This was after bleaching it, of course. That day began my hair dying phase (a five year phase). My hair has been blonde, red (unnatural and "natural"), black, blue, pink, green, brown, and faded versions of the aforementioned. Last year, I realized that my hair was damaged beyond belief. Before that, I thought my hair wasn't damaged because it was so soft. By the way, soft does not mean healthy. About two weeks ago I dyed my hair dark brown so that it would fade into my natural color. If I don't have roots, I won't feel the need to dye my hair.
Lessons & tips: Dye your hair something darker than your natural hair color so that it will fade into the natural shade. Permanent dye isn't actually permanent.
