How to get some tattoos
How I did it: I found a photo of a giraffe that I liked, photomanipulated it in Photoshop, then got it printed and headed into town with my boyfriend. We got booked in for Saturday 1 Nov, my 18th birthday. We arrived at 11am, and waited about 45 minutes while it was drawn up etc. It took about an hour and a half, maybe a bit longer, and it hurt. The bits that hurt were mostly the bits on the bones. I got it on the inside of my ankle. It bled, as they do, and I pulled some pretty amazing faces. When it was done I hobbled across the center of Bolton for a coffee. I love my giraffe. I'm using Tattoo goo, and rinsing it before i reapply. I'm really happy with him.
Lessons & tips: Think about your design.
It will hurt, prepare for the worst, then you can be releved if it turns out to be less painful.
Look through the artists portfolio.
Wait a while before you decide to get it done.
