How to become a lifeguard
"was nice to finally close up some unfinished business from 15+ years ago! "
How I did it: After a very long hiatus of almost 15 years away from the pool, decided to clear up some unfinished business and take my National Lifesaving Service certificate. Despite having a severe car accident just a few weeks before starting it, I kept going through it on the painful days, on the exhausted days and on the days where not an ounce of energy existed...
Lessons & tips: Get swimming, be strong, practise and remember -- this is something -- a skill -- that you may one day need to put into real-life situations! Could be at the beach, at the scene of a car accident... skills that could save a life. Take it seriously!
