How to walk daily
"walking and running are helping me pay attention to my city"
How I did it: after having this on the list forever I did the following things:
- bought running shoes (I pay attention to shoes and have a natural attraction to impractical ones, so just getting a pair of the right shoes for the task was a big step)
- started couch to 5K training for a 5K at the end of July. this means I've been run/walking for three-four days a week anyway.
- made a pledge to take public transit whenever reasonably possible this summer, meaning 3 times/week. et voila! google maps is a great tool for finding the best way and most routes require some walking. all together I shoot for 40-45 minutes of walking around daily.
- between these two commitments, it looks like I'm walking daily, and sometimes, multiple walks per day.
