How to drink more water
How I did it: "We don't drink our calories!!"
After I heard that butch chick on that weight loss show say that, I've never been able to forget it.
Drinking a sufficient amount of water is important for health, and also supposedly improves the condition of your hair, skin and nails. Opting for water rather than drinking other drinks helps cut out calories and all kinds of nasty stuff; it isn't bat for your teeth, and you can find it for little to no cost most anywhere. Why shouldn't I do this?
As far as the actual goal -- I didn't find it hard at all after I had that resolve. As long as I keep water handy, there's no problem. I just got into the habit of always having some around, then I phased out the soda and coffee.
My only regret: I miss the caffeine in my morning espresso. But getting over the caffeine withdrawal and overall healthier eating, sleeping, and physical activity can provide you with energy as well.
Lessons & tips:
- carry around a bottle of water
- make sure you always have water when you eat, even with snacks
- drink when you're active and sweating, or when it's hot, etc.
- remember you're saving money on drinks...
- ...and not consuming "empty" calories, either!
Resources:
- a resuable water bottle
