How I did it: I went to college where they offered the official City and Guilds Level 3 certificates for 2D and 3D CAD.
The course was only one day a week so we got copies of the AutoCAD software to practice and practice and practice on at home!
Most of the work consisted of assignments, which had to be completed in set times and at the end of it all we had multiple choice tests.
Which I passed... with distinctions!!
Lessons & tips: Practice drawing. Anything! As often as you can.
There are alot of things the tutor cant just teach you, you have to pick up yourself, like icons and shortcuts and the UCS.
Resources: AutoCAD help.
Online forums etc.
