How to start a blog
How I did it: I actually started TWO blogs. Go me! Way to be ambitious. I decided to start a collaborative blog with some members of my book group. This was helpful because I had lots of different ideas from people and people to create the layout and what not. I decided to then make my own book blog after this one went well. This was a little harder as I was on my own. I chose Blogger but other people like Wordpress. Blogger is nice because you can tweak templates easily and I like it because it is connected with Google making it easy for people to follow you and for you to follow others.
Lessons & tips: -If you aren't a graphic designer or handy with HTML but know basics--get a simple template and tweak it. I know a little bit of HTML so I was able to tweak my blog how I want it.
- There are TONS of good tutorials out there for doing things HTML wise if you don't know how. For example, I easily found directions for how to make a drop down menu for labels
- Have a couple blog posts in reserve so that you will have content.
-Be consistent in how often you blog.
-Network! Comment on other bloggers posts and find blogs similar to yours.
