This was really inspiring. I always mean to pay more attention to the changing of the seasons and the changes in the world around me as they flow into each other, but somehow, what it work, school and the tons of other things that keep me occupy, I never seem to be able to pay enough attention to the world around me.
I think at its simplest, you just pay attention to what you feel. Eat when you’re hungry, rest when you’re tired, you know the Zen drill. I think it’s a way of being kind to yourself, because when you’re not, that’s when you’re body starts acting up and letting you know something’s gotta change. Even if you only remember once in a day to stop and pay attention to where you are, how you are in your body, the energy of the room, the time of day, the scene outside your window, you’ll do yourself a world of good.
Don’t get me wrong, I have a ways to go myself in all of this. But I think it’s worth it, and practice will make it second nature (or would it be first?).
