How to stick to a diet and exercise plan for a week at a time... starting 2moro (22nd June 2010)
How I did it: I simply made a plan of what I wasnt going to eat, cutting out all fatty and sugary food. My diet consisted of a lot of fibre, fruits, vegetables, nuts and some fish. I kept myself busy with the exercise so I didn't have time to think about food. The hard part was when I was with friends, when they would be eating unhealthy food and I was really tempted to just have some, (after all, food is a way of socializing), but I managed to resist and felt a lot stronger for it. I also decided not to eat anything after 6.30pm, with the exception of 7oclock one night that I needed food for energy to exercise. This strict rule felt good and when I felt peckish I just drank a lot of water, which suprisingly did help. I exercised different ways throughout the week. I varied it each day, from skipping rope, jogging, yoga, hula-hooping, cycling, and going to the gym with friends. This meant I didn't get bored and made it more interesting. It was quite hard to follow this goal, even for 1 week, I have taken today off to have a treat to myself, but I intend on exercising still later. I will then re-do this goal starting tomorrow (1st July 2010) and see how my next week goes. :)
Lessons & tips: Try not to eat anything at night time, it just makes u feel sluggish and the discipline actually feels very good when you can stick at it.
Get rid of any tempting food in the house... if it's not there u can't eat it :D
Remember what you're aiming for at the end of all this.. it will give u motivation to follow it through :)
