How to overcome my fear of public speaking

"Very very worth it, scary but worth it"
How I did it: I was involved in a leadership program and everyone else in it was sooo good at public speaking! I was totally terrified! Near the end of the program we were told that we were going to do a speech! I was horrified! We went to a public speaking workshop where we were taught on what to do and the next week we had to give individual speeches on our experiences with the program to 100 people! I got up and did mine and now I LOVE public speaking!
Lessons & tips: Dont let your fear hold you back! Get up in front of a small group and each time get bigger and bigger! You will always be nervous but dont look at that as a bad thing!

I’ve been looking into public speaking courses, seminars,,,, EXPENSIVE ranging in 1k’s… thats something i cant afford. How did you practice your public speaking? Any low priced suggestions ?
