How I did it: I kept an open mind and tried new things and learned more than I can ever put into words. Sometimes, the less you think about something, the easier and more enjoyable it is. When faced with that which you must do, you just do it and everything turns out wonderful.

Enough for you?

I lived in Japan for more than 25 years. I’m now in Hawaii, but in the 5 years that I’ve been here, have traveled back to Japan 6 times (for a 1 month stay 2 months ago). I still have a permanent residence visa, and after my last trip back, found I really miss Japan and all my friends (not to mention my lucrative job) and great food. I’m seriously considering moving back. The only drawback, and the reason I left in the first place, is winter. I hate winter. Of course, I can always leave in the winter. I’m thinking about a winter home in either Singapore or Thailand. Anyway, fror me, my time in Japan was not enough. I will always consider it home.
