How I did it: I was fortunate as the 2010 World Cup was hosted by my country, South Africa. Also I live in Durban which was a host city, just 3Km from the stadium.

I applied for 5/7 games hosted in Durban, but was only sucsessful in getting tickets for the round of 16 match.

Netherlands beat Slovakia 2-1 to progress to the quarter finals.

Lessons & tips: 1. Plan and book early
2. Arrive at stadium with time to spare
3. Use earplugs (if vuvuzellas are here to stay)
