How I did it: I only lived in Costa Rica for 2 months a couple of summers ago, but I loved every second of it! I did volunteer work in a day care and nursing home for a month in Cartago, rode my bike down the black sand beaches of Playa Viejo, got lost in the streets of San Jose, went repelling down waterfalls and saw lava coming out of a volcano in Arenal, got crazy with locals and tourists, scuba dived, and zipped lined through the canopies of Manuel Antonio!
