How to change the oil in my car
How I did it: I bought a filter and 5 quarts of oil at Auto Zone for $19...you could buy cheaper oil/filter, but I just took whatever the guy gave me, I'm a sucker, I know.
I had to borrow my dad's jack, and it was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be!
I put a pot underneath the oil filter and with a rag just screwed it off and put in the new one. I put a little bit of oil around the top of the new one.
Then there's only one screw to take off and the oil will just pour out like a spout into the pan. There was a lot more oil than I was expecting, so just make sure you have a big enough pot :)
Put the screw back on and pour the new oil in. It's really easy, but I think I'll just take it somewhere next time.
Lessons & tips: You can put the old oil back into the 5 quart container and auto places will dispose of it for you.
It was kindof cool seeing how black and dirty the old oil was compared to the new oil that's almost clear.
Resources: My dad, Google, the guy at Auto Zone.
