How to run a mile
How I did it: I'm not a finisher, and I've never been a runner. I swam in college, but after I lost access to the olympic length pool I became a bit of a slug. I'm overweight by about 50 lbs. The reason I'm telling you all of that is so that you know that if I can do it, you sure can. If you're less active or more overweight it may take you a little longer to reach a mile, but you can totally do it.
Lessons & tips: Run for time, not distance. Trust the program. Run what it says to run each time. Listen to your body if you need an extra rest day between runs, but push yourself to up the time when it says to. Definitely stretch before and after and don't skip your warm up or cool down walk.
