How to finish my wedding scrapbook
How I did it: first, you should know that I am not a scrapbooker. I do not have a crate of papers, scissors, and stickers waiting to be artfully crafted into mementos. what i did have was a bag of stuff from my wedding that didn't fit anywhere else. we already had a photo album made by my aunt and uncle (using no professional photos, weve got some awesome amateur photogs in the fam) and an informal guestbook full of well wishing messages. but what about the touching notes, the cards, the invitation to my wedding shower? The collected letters we wrote during our courtship? these had to have a place of their own.
i had this goal on my list for a long time before I finally stumbled into hallmark and found that they have different types of wedding themed memory books you can slip everything into. they have pretty backgrounds and fun stickers to add special annotations. once i found that, i got it done one afternoon!
Lessons & tips: wait until after your first anniversary to make this kind of memento book. I kept a lot of things in a bag after the wedding, but after two years I found that I really only wanted 2/3 of what I saved. A little time helps you see what you'll cherish and what would just be taking up space.
Resources: Hallmark: the memory book I used is the one pictured in black above the words wedding albums and gifts.
