How to stop pushing the good things out of my life
"Instead of thinking about what I should have, I sat down and realized what I wanted. I threw out the "shoulds" and kept all the "wants""
How I did it: I made sacrifices. I hadn't realized that when saying "good things" that this is extremely subjective. There were things that were supposed to be good, so I clung on to them and waited for the good; for fear that losing it would be a bad decision. Waiting for "the good" is, well, never a good thing.
Lessons & tips: This is hard. But if you are pushing something away in the first place, chances are it is not "good" for you to begin with.
Resources: Nothing other than some intrinsic thinking time and discussions with good friends.
