How I did it: i was about to leave on a trip of a lifetime. cycling through one of the towns was a highlight in my itinerary and i hadn't riden a bike since i was about 7 or 8 years old. so there i was 22 learning from scratch!

my cousin who lived with me at the time took me out every day for a week on the footpath around my entire block... total fail. i got over the path and opted on the freedom of the road - it was so much easier (and flatter) and i was zooming past in a couple days!

riding a bike is so freeing.
