How to learn braille
How I did it: I saw an ad about a course in a newspaper, called the association organizing it and enrolled. We were divided into smaller groups and got an alphabet, papers and a braille slate to write with. Our blind teachers also taught us how to use a braille typewriter, that was the most confusing part, but our patient teachers helped a lot x) Learning braille was so much fun, and I recommend it to everyone! Don't forget that it's an international language, they use the same letters all over the world.Think of all the things you could do... read books in the dark for example :D
Lessons & tips: Ask a local association about courses or try to learn it by yourself, it isn't very hard, it took me ~2 weeks to become somewhat fluent in reading and writing. Try to borrow a typewriter (since they are quite expensive) and practice writing, your hand can become *very* tired when writing with the slate :)
Resources: My local newspaper.
