CharityAK Life is amazing!
I’ve lived in Alaska since 1984. You did a great job fitting in some of the highlights in a short amount of time. I hope you can come back again sometime and explore even more of out beautiful state!
How I did it: In August 2007, a friend and I flew from Philly (to Phoenix) to Anchorage on a Friday.
Saturday we woke up early, ate some waffles and homemade jam at the B&B, rented bikes and rode the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, at lunch at a mall downtown, drove to Talkeetna, took a plane around Denali, and drove back to Anchorage for a late dinner.
Sunday we got up even earlier and took an Alaska RailRoad train 4 hours south to Seward, went on a cruise in Kenai Fjords National Park, where we checked out some sea lions and puffins, and took the train back to Anchorage.
Monday we drove down AK-1 and took lots of photos, got lost on some random road, eventually found the wildlife preserve, saw cool animals, had lunch in Girdwood, visited the Alyeska ski resort, and eventually boarded a plane home.
