"This is my first blanket to donate. It's one small way to make this world a little more pleasant."
How I did it: I did a little online research about the needs and requirements, and found out which coordinator to report to. Then I just crocheted away in the evenings mostly. I ended up making one that would work for a teenager or big kid figuring most people probably think of doing them for babies, and not as much for older kids. The colors are gender-neutral, too. It's so soft and warm- I hope it warms the heart of the recipient.
Lessons & tips: Always do your homework to find out needs & requirements- you don't want to go through all the 'work' only to find out your blanket can't be used for some reason.
Resources: The website for Project Linus was quite helpful. My coordinator has been great, too. Talk to people who are involved if you have questions.
