How I did it: Well,  a couple years ago I was supposed to stay in a hostel in Portland, OR.  For whatever reason, I didn't get to go and my stay in the hostel was cancelled.  Three months ago I decided to go to Dublin.  I booked a flight, and then when online and did a ton of research about the different hostels in Dublin.  I settled on the Townhouse Hostel on Lower Gardiner Street in Dublin.  It was absolutely amazing.

Lessons & tips: If you hang around at breakfast for a while, you'll meet random people that you can hang out with for the whole time your'e there.  Or you can just be friendly to the people staying in your room.
