How to give up sugar
How I did it: At the recommendation of my doctor, I gave up sugar (and juices, cow milk products, and white flour), to improve my ichy skin.
I told everyone I'm living with about my new diet, so I felt very obliged to stick to my new eating habits.
My skin has become a little bit better, and I've lost a few pounds so far (without feeling hungry), so I'm calling it a success.
But I think avoiding milk and white flour may have had as much of an influence on my health.
Lessons & tips: As soon as I gave up sugar I was really keen on fruits, so I made sure to always have some apples, bananas etc. in the house.
I have come to love rice milk, it tastes very sweet, so it has become another substitute in cases of small sugar cravings.
Resources: It helped that I live with great people who totally accepted my new choices and are mindful of my diet when cooking a meal.
