p.s. Maybe I should throw my bouquet at you. It’s kind of wilting though…now I understand why brides throw the bouquet (besides superstitious traditions) ! I’ve clung to mine and can’t quite figure out how to dispose of it. I know you can dry flowers somehow in the microwave but on the other hand…I can just imagine it catching fire…..

haha, that is an old picture, my avatar, from way back in June when Lyra Bebti was a wee’un. Now she’s a holy terror! And so big, oh my gosh!!

As Mr. Bebti was sorely in need of a vacation, the honeymoon sort of surrounded the wedding day (a day and a half before and four and a half afterwards).

Believe me, there is a treehouse, waterfall, volcano and black sand beach – type anniversary (if not before!!!) celebration very definitely in the works. It all depends on time and fundage. Will definitely be in touch & very much looking forward to it !!!

Somehow I missed it & just now I was going back through my emails (someday I will organize my email…someday…...).

The short answer is: yes! there is hope!

I think one thing that really helped was the complete absence of spectators. I really liked that, as well. Very nontraditional. And one family member did comment to me in rather stricken tones, something about us leaving out “the community aspect of it.” Yeah. That was kind of the point. (In our case, “the community aspect” has been pretty negative, more often than not. Unfortunate, but true.)

Another thing that helped was his involvement in writing the actual ceremony & vows. He resisted and avoided, but eventually did it, and even seemed to enjoy it once he got started. ; )

One more thing that I think helped was our shared desire for simplicity. While I do feel I had to give up a little too much in this department, for example in terms of sheer time frame (we only managed to actually set the date one month ahead of time, for cripes’ sake), it did get him to the altar.

Not that there was an actual altar. And that also helped. ; )

Yeah, well, we were trying to be all subtle about it. ;D Sort of.

Well but apparently according to my husband’s mother, it was a grave sin to not tell her or invite her. She literally threw a massive tantrum about it and never wants to see me again. Which is a great relief to me, because I was getting tired of all the bowing and scraping. (as you can see, there’s a bit more of the personality issues to do with the never wanting to see me again than just the marriage issues)

But aside from having offended the 2nd Coming of the Virgin Mary Herself, yeah !!

Totally sin-free! yowza! what will we do with all the extra credit points?? XD
