How to paint my bedroom
How I did it: I started with choosing the window treatments. I had to go back to the store about 4 times to get the right swag. We had most of the painting supplies except for the paint.
Taped and scrubbed the first day. Ceiling the next day, Walls the day after that, Trim the day after that.
Lessons & tips: I used thick postcards to act as a gaurd. For some surfaces like carpet it worked better than the metal edge to get clean lines without getting other surfaces painted.
I painted the ceiling blue. HGTV said you should go a shade lighter because ceiling colors will appear darker. When I started applying it looked a little too close to white. The result is still pleasing but not as dramatic as I had hoped. The lesson learned is that if your gut tells you it is not right then it is ok to stop and adjust the tinting of your paint.
