How to elect Barack Obama president by jimrin

"Rewarding to finally see the "good guys" win"

How I did it:

  • Stay as informed as possible (based on facts, not on hearsay)
  • Help spread information (based on facts, not hearsay)
  • Contribute to the campaign (in my case monetarily, however, volunteering time is just as important)
  • In fact, contributed twice. Sometimes sacrifices are necessary for the a bigger cause.

Lessons & tips: From this experience, I see volunteering time can help as much as any monetary contribution. Especially living in a "red" state, helping in "battleground" states may be what will help out the most in 2012.

Resources: Stayed informed with the campaign using:

  • Digg
  • Fivethirtyeight.com
  • Realclearpolitics.com (but I started to wonder if they leaned more to the right based on the greater proportion of right-leaning articles I saw)

Obama got more votes for president than any other presidential candidate!!

More voice. For Obama… I LOVE this. I love that this is so. I love that it was a clobbering landslide. I love that people who care are so many in number. I love that this is a BACKLASH. I love that this is an UPRISING and a TOPPLING OF APATHY, that was kindled by powerful people doing bad things.

Despots have their special role in ushering in the evolutionary leaps of the human heart. I love that something so good, in America, in each of us, came from something so bad.
