How to live in London for a Year
How I did it: I took advantage of my university course's option to do a work placement for 12 months and found myself a job in central London working for IBM.
I was lucky as I started off living in my brother's spare room for 4 months, but once I was on my feet moved in with a friend I'd made at work in Camberwell.
Lessons & tips: Gumtree.com and spareroom.co.uk are good for finding flats and flatshares if you are new to the area.
Join a gym, do some classes or become a member of a sports team/society in order to make friends.
