"I empowered myself to solve an annoying problem."
How I did it: I bought the bags while shopping one day, and I found that they were much sturdier than the plastic bags. I thought they were much easier to carry into the house. I put them right back into the car after shopping (except for two of them that needed washed). I bought a couple more at the other grocery store that I shop at and now have bags from both store and a plain cavas bag that will handle any grocery shopping purchases I make. I had to go back out to the car twice to get the bags, but I didn't mind doing that as I hate those flimsy plastic bags.
Lessons & tips: The reusable bags are inexpensive around here. They hold up pretty well. I found putting them right back into my vehicle after emptying the groceries made them available for the next trip. Make sure you wash any bags that may have contained meet or vegetables. I just throw them in with my jeans and they come out fine.
Resources: Every grocery store around here carries the reusable bags. The two things that helped me best were my dislike of the plastic bags because they split, and I am constantly seeing them caught high up in trees for months.
