How I did it: I was in a job I didn't like, and my boyfriend was in University but didn't really know what he wanted to be. So, we decided to take a year off and traveled in South East Asia. That checked off quite a lot of the world heritage sites. Then every few years, I would plan a two-week vacation and mostly the important or worthwhile sites are all listed in travel guides.
Not all sites are worth visiting unless you have a passion for archeology or an active imagination.
Lessons & tips: It's not about the list, it's about what you really want to see or experience.
