How to apply for university by Cora_and_Clarice

"Wow, that was way easier than last time now that UCT allows you to apply online!"

How I did it:

Steps 1-7 apply to everyone applying online. The steps thereafter might vary slightly depending on whether you're applying for postgrad or undergrad etc.

1) Go to www.uct.ac.za

2) Click the "Apply online to study at UCT" button (on the left in the "Highlights" bar)

3) "Click to continue" twice

4) Create an account using your email address and a password of your choice

5) Go to your email and verify your address by following the link they send to you

6) Now finish applying by filling in all your details and clicking "submit"

7) Within 2 days you will receive another email including an acknowledgement of your application, a declaration and further instructions

8) Print out and sign the declaration

9) Get a certified copy of your ID

10) Get any other supporting documents mentioned in the instructions they sent you

11) Go to the Admissions Office in the Kramer building on Middle Campus with your documents and application fee

12) Phone the faculty you are applying for to double check that they require no further documentation

And you're done :) Those who were still waiting for their matric results at the time that they applied will probably have to return with them early in January.
