How to read "of mice and men"
How I did it: Everyone in my American Lit. class was given the book last Thursday. Our teacher gave us one week to read it. I'm a slow reader, but I finished the book in two readings.
It was a bit funny, though, how a couple of students, including myself, were given new school schedules this Thursday morning (which I'm trying to switch my 1st and 7th period classes at the moment), and my new Am. Lit. teacher tells us we don't have to read it. I was alright with it, but some of my friends didn't want to read the book, so they were a little mad. Either way, he said we'll probably be reading it in our second semester, so it's alright.
I liked the book and how it was written. I'm glad I was given the opportunity to read it.
Lessons & tips: - It's not a long book, so take a few days, possibly split each time you read into chapters, and just relax.
Resources: - My (former) American Literature teacher
- Penguin Books
