How to elect Barack Obama president
How I did it: I woke up at 5:30 am despite working 12 hours the day before and all weekend. I could not wait to get to the polls.
I live in a sleepy rural town in upstate New York, so there were no long lines. In fact, at 6:30 am I was the 40th person to vote. Believe it or not, that was huge.
I stepped into the voting booth and flicked all the little levers on Row A. I paused for a moment, taking in the moment. I was electing America's first Black President after all.
I took a few pictures. Then I pulled the big lever. It's that simple and that monumental!
Lessons & tips: Ask for a copy of your ballot before you vote. It makes the experience in the booth less stressful. If you did have problems voting, it is not too late to call 1-800-OUR-VOTE.
